Suggestions

Helpful hints to maintain your results

  • Drink plenty of water
  • Do light activity such as taking a walk, this helps aid your circulation, furthering the result of the massage. However, be careful not to overexert in any activity.
  • Ice and/or Heat-your therapist can direct you on which method will be best suited for you
  • Stretches-ask your therapist about which stretches are best for your individual needs
  • Self Massage-your therapist will discuss if these techniques are appropriate for you and further in structions if so
  • Referral to another Healthcare provider if necessary

What to Expect

First massage

PLEASE ARRIVE 15 MINUTES EARLY.

When you arrive, you will be greeted by reception, who will provide paperwork to complete, prior to seeing your therapist. You therapist will greet you and take you back to the treatment room, where you will discuss your health history and talk about the purpose for that day's session. You will then be directed about how to dress for your treatment, what type of massage you will receive and any other questions you may have. The therapist will exit the room allowing you a few moments to get settled, before returning to begin your massage treatment. The therapist will communicate with you during the session to make sure you are comfortable with pressure, temperature, etc. After your session, you will be individually directly on what to do from there. 

What to Expect

Post-Massage

As with any rehabilitative therapy, some possible side effects may present. .

  • Day after soreness
  • Light bruising
  • Trigger-Point activation
  • Other possible side effects are rare but include loss of appetite, metalic taste in mouth, unset stomach, dizziness

These are only possible side effects and they do not occur in each client, especially once your tissues begin to adapt to the work. If you do experience any of these symptoms, we ask that you be patient with the processs, and please allow a day or two for them to pass.
